Final, albeit brief, post

Done with Peace Corps = home in three days.

Last month = crazy busy.

Wrote a longer post + computer ate it = short post.

The Old Man and the Coop

That's Albert, this awesome old fella who lives near me. He's the one who spearheaded the chicken coop project, which you can see under way in the background. That other guy has a hammer. (ps Albert tells me he's 70 years old. Talk about aging well! Jeez...)

Came home one night to find my entire kitchen swarming with these little ants. They bite as hard as the ants in "Apocalpyto" that the lady uses as sutures. Bam!


Went to a religious happenin, honoring Our Lady. Took a pic of the procession as they carried her from church to church.


This is one of my students. He's wearing an exact replica of one of my old favorite t-shirts. "Millencolin" is a Swedish punk group I was really into in high school. Seriously, I had that exact shirt. Weird.

Push-Mower Project: Success!!

Rollin' Over in His Grave

So the lodge we stayed at (Momella Wildlife Lodge) was apparently the place where the film "Hatari!" with John Wayne was filmed. Appropriately, all the rooms had names after the actors/actresses in the film, and the decor also reflected the lodge's heritage. I couldn't resist getting a picture underneath the John Wayne sign while wearing a giant pink woman's cowboy shirt. Sacrilege? Yes.

One day we were blessed with a fantastic clear view of the mountain. It tends to be obscured by clouds. Naturally we snapped photos like the paparrazzi.
